Apply for acceptance letter
To get admission to any Mauritius university candidate must have to apply for an acceptance letter from the professor to supervise him/her for the successful completion of MBBS.
Submit Form
Every student in a Mauritius university must need an advisor. After getting an advisor students have to submit an online admission application form along with a scanned acceptance letter of professor.
Online interview
The student has to give an online interview in front of the admission committee once he is accepted by university and professor, he will receive an admission letter and visa form.
Study MBBS in Mauritius
Some of the requirements that students need to fulfill in order to be eligible for taking admission in MBBS course is mentioned in details below:
- The minimum age of the candidate must be 17 years, when he or she is applying for the degree in both the colleges for MBBS degree in Mauritius.
- The students must have finished their 12th grade with the mandatory subjects English, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English.
- Students must have an aggregate mark of 60% in their 12th grade.
- Students must qualify NEET examination conducted in India. No minimum scores are usually mentioned. NEET result is considered to be valid for a period of 3 years, after one clears the examination.
- There are no separate entrance examinations that are conducted in Mauritius for admission to MBBS degree. The selection is entirely merit-based and done on the basis of the 12th grade results. However, for SSR college, an interview is held.
Some of the important documents which are also essential for admission are as follows:
- Photocopies of 12th grade mark sheet.
- The pass certificate from 12th grade showing the minimum score of 60% marks in aggregate in the four subjects and English.
- Certificate indicating clearing of NEET UG with attained score.
- Financial documents relating to loans and family finances.
- Birth certificate of the student applying.
- Valid photo identification of the student.
- Photocopies of passport and visa are mandatory to be submitted by international students.
- Code of conduct certification issued by the head of the institution last attended.
- Medical certificate issued by a registered practitioner to attest to the medical fitness of the candidate.
- Affidavit in the format which has been prescribed by the respective institution.
Exams for MBBS in Mauritius
There is no such entrance exam that is required to take admission in an MBBS course in Mauritius. The admission is conducted on the basis of marks obtained in the 12th grade by students. The focus is mainly on the subjects Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English. However, students also need to sit for the NEET exam and have a valid score to take admission for MBBS in Mauritius. This is mandatory for any student wanting to study MBBS abroad.
NEET – The NEET exam is conducted annually by the Government of India for medical aspirants. The paper consists of questions from Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.
